The Mill Machinist at Triumph Geared Solutions - Macomb is responsible for the operation and basic maintenance of Mill machines in the Mill Department. The Mill Machinist must be able to produce high-quality products according to Triumph Gear Systems Mill Department operations manual.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Clock in & out of appropriate job operations
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Adhere to job plans per job travelers
- Set-up multiple types of jobs
- Operate all mills and associated machines as assigned
- Basic Maintenance of mills
- First part quality inspections
- Use precision measurement equipment
- Consistently produce quality parts
- Adhere to directions and instructions of direct supervisor
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 5 years' experience with set-up and operation of CNC Mill
- Knowledgeable of set-up requirements and operation of a horizontal and vertical CNC milling equipment
- Must be capable of reading blueprints, and manage job orders to required specifications
- Familiar with Fanuc controls and concepts of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques
Physical Requirements
- Ability to use hand tools.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, or stretching
- Work may require bending, carrying, lifting up to fifty (25) pounds, pulling, pushing, and standing.
- Assistance is required for lifting over 25 pounds.
