Job Summary: This position works on our 2nd shift, normal hours are 4:30pm-3am. Carries out CNC technical responsibilities which include training employees; planning, improving, and assisting with technical issues at work. Gives technical assistance on machining operations, requiring specialized training and experience in CNC machines by performing the following duties. Essential Functions:
- Examines and inspects machined components produced to determine if items meet specifications
- Gives input on production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet standard rates
- Recommends improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew
- Ensures technical issues are resolved in the mill department
- Assist with planning and scheduling of proper machines for production
- Assists in adjusting CNC programs
- Sets up CNC mill machines and other equipment as required
- Assists in continuous improvement activities
- Working knowledge of CNC Mill and Lathe machines
- Familiarity with multiple controllers such as Fanuc, Heidenheim, Mazak, Fidia, etc.
- Minimum 3 years of set-up experience
- Minimum 5 years of machining experience across multiple machining applications (Mazak, Toyoda, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, Doosan, Mori Seiki, Fidel, Makino, Sigma, etc.)
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- General knowledge of QMS (ISO9001/AS9100)
- General knowledge of 5S practices
- General knowledge of basic fixturing
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, and at least five years' CNC Machining experience. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working with programming software. Mastercam experience a plus
- Crane experience
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Required to stand; walk; sit; bend; step; use hands to finger dexterity, handle, grip and grasp, feel and reach with hands and arms. Hear equipment noises and alarms, see small machine components and parts
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
