Job Summary
The CNC/Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining CNC machines and production equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operations. This role performs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic maintenance while supporting preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs. The position operates in a manufacturing environment with a strong focus on safety, quality, continuous improvement, and equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machines and production equipment
Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic maintenance and repairs
Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance on CNC and production equipment
Diagnose equipment failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs to minimize production downtime
Complete Job Safety Analysis (JSA) documentation and comply with safety standards
Ensure compliance with safety programs, including LOTO, confined space, and NFPA requirements
Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
Complete and maintain maintenance, safety, and quality documentation
Report unsafe conditions and initiate corrective actions related to quality or safety
Operate and maintain equipment using CMMS systems when applicable
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support manufacturing operations
Work flexible schedules, including overtime, nights, or weekends as required
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Five years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Five years of experience performing electrical and mechanical repairs on industrial equipment
Strong knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems, including troubleshooting and wiring
Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
Experience maintaining pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Mechanical skills including replacing motors, gearboxes, bearings, and conveyor components
Experience with CNC machines and related controls
Proficiency using shop tools, micrometers, calipers, and measurement equipment
Familiarity with safety programs including JSA, LOTO, and confined space procedures
Basic computer proficiency, including email and maintenance software
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Commitment to safety, quality, attendance, and continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications
Technical or vocational school training
Electrical certification
Experience in oil and gas or heavy manufacturing environments
Experience with CNC machines such as Mazak, Haas, DMG Mori, or Okuma
PLC programming or troubleshooting experience
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and ISO 9001 standards
Ability to read blueprints and manufacturing documentation

Ability to lift, push, or pull materials as required
Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and perform repetitive hand movements
Ability to work in environments with temperature variations, noise, and industrial hazards
