- Packaging Machine Operator - 3rd Shift
Description
Job Summary
The Packaging Machine Operator is responsible for working safely and efficiently to maximize hands-on production and shipping of wood shavings.
Essential Responsibilities
Safety
Attend monthly safety meetings.
Wear PPE as required.
Attend trainings as needed and complete required testing with satisfactory results.
Production
Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner to produce packaged materials.
Communicate with the shift supervisor and complete assigned work duties.
Assist with cleaning and maintaining the work area.
Place empty bags on the fill tube, seal, place in master packs, and hand palletize (up to 40 lbs.).
Outdoor Activities
Perform outdoor duties including sweeping, picking up debris, watering plants, shoveling snow, and deicing walkways as needed.
Quality
Maintain and verify that all current quality assurance measures are followed and communicated.
Requirements
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Physical capability to bend, squat, or stoop.
Previous experience operating mobile equipment and/or forklift preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. regularly.
Ability to respond quickly to sounds and visual cues.
Ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
Ability to recognize and respond to potentially dangerous situations.
Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
Must be able to climb stairs and/or ladders to access stacking areas.
Ability to correctly wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
Must be able to work in a smoke-free environment.
Experience
Manufacturing: 1 Year (Preferred)
